World Sight Day

Do you know that 90% of blind people live in low income countries and some of the eye diseases causing blindness have no symptoms?
4 out of 5 cases of blindness can be prevented.

A comprehensive eye exam can do more than test your vision,  it could help save your life. Doctors of optometry can help detect potentially life threatening conditions like brain tumours, high blood  pressure and diabetes.

Children should have their first eye exam at 6 Months of age and a second eye exam is important at age 3. Every child should have an eye exam before the start of school and every 1-2 years thereafter. Adults should have a comprehensive eye exam every 1-2 years. Elderly ones from  61years and above should have an annual eye exam.
